Murals

Belfast, N. Ireland

The mural projects are connected with the rejuvenating of areas in Belfast; and are built from a collection of images sourced through historical archives and meeting the community door to door. They reflect the area’s diverse set of historical counterpoints, establishing a link with the past, and a pride in the community with their collective history.

“The murals must be pieces that hold interest for the local community, and the passing public must find them visually striking. My intention is to provide three murals that not only portray elements of the area, but act as artistic statements in their own right, with dramatic light shifts, and that they incorporate a saturated use of colour which is a well known feature of my own original artwork.” - Raymond Henshaw
